VIRMAT Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in October, 2015 with the aim of providing products related to advanced simulation based training systems for minimally invasive surgical procedures. Founded by first generation entrepreneurs with dedicated teams for computer aided designing/manufacturing, electronics hardware/software development. It provides complete, innovative and economical solutions to the pressing surgical training needs of India and the world in particular.
Virmat works closely with surgeons, scientists, researchers, medical and business professionals to bring about major advances in surgical training and evaluation of skills. Company is working towards solving apprenticeship based training related problems, developing skills evaluation products and providing services to improve surgical skills.


Traditional “see one, do one, teach one” concept of apprenticeship is no longer applicable for teaching of skills for minimally invasive surgical procedures. Current workhour restriction, medico-legal issues, increasing demand of skilled surgeons and technology dependent surgical approaches mandate alternative methods of training outside OR to expedite the learning curve. A surgeon should acquire the surgical skills through repetitive feedback-based training in a simulated environment, where errors does not lead to lethal consequences.
At a later stage, along with its neurosurgical simulation products Virmat envisions to provide simulation solutions to other surgical branches such as Laparoscopy surgery, Head and Neck surgery, Maxillofacial surgery, ENT surgery, Oral surgery, Plastic surgery, Orthopedic surgery, Dental surgery.

Products being developed


Silicon Brain

Elastic brain model with properties similar to natural brain being developed by silicon molding and vacuum casting.It can be used as an anatomical model for training.


Micro-Suturing Pad

Skin pad can be used to provide training for micro-suturing using operating microscope. The skin pad can be incised, retracted and sutured.


High-Speed Drilling Pad

Drilling pad can be used for training of high speed drilling to make craniotomy  by making burr holes and  removing flaps fromthe skull. it has properties similar to bones.


Ventricular Simulator

Physical simulator for imparting training for shunt procedure to cure Hydrocephalus condition that develops due to abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within the brain.
